Steven Blinn
Steven Blinn is president and CEO of BlinnPR, a highly successful
boutique public relations agency he opened in 1996. The agency was
founded on the principle that great public relations occurs when senior
level executives interact in a smaller, more creative environment.
Since then, Steven and his agency have served such clients as the WWF,
Mellon Financial, Dow Jones, the National Park Service, software vendor
Protegrity, and the PCI Security Vendor Alliance, among others with
everything from public relations to crisis communications to investor
relations and social media.
Prior to starting BlinnPR, Steven served as Director, Media Relations
for Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI). At BMI, Mr. Blinn oversaw the
public relations activities for BMI's two revenue producing departments
-- Media and General Licensing, and spearheaded the organization's
entrance into new media.
Prior to his arrival at BMI, Steven worked at a number of local NYC PR
firms, but got his start in the sports industry, having worked for the
New York Islanders and the New Jersey Nets.
A noted lecturer on public relations, Mr. Blinn appears regularly before
industry and educational forums. Consistently graded by program
directors as among the best speakers in the country, he has addressed
The Public Relations Society of America, the New York Software Industry
Association, the RSA Security conference, and audiences in New York and
Boston and Fordham University.
Mr. Blinn is regularly called upon for commentary by magazines and
newspapers, and has been quoted in Inc. magazine, PRWeek, the Los
Angeles Times and PR News, and his by-line has appeared in PRWeek and
O'Dwyer's.
A resident of New York City, Mr. Blinn earned bachelor's and master's
degrees from St. John's University and Adelphi University, respectively.
